Badenoch + Clark is partnering with a public sector organisation who is looking to engage with an Interface Developer (HL7. The engagement will start as a 3 month contract which will then transfer to a FTC/Permanent employment directly with the organisation paying up to £51,000 p/a. The post holder will work as part of the Systems Development Section's interfacing team in developing, implementing and supporting the Interface Engines and designated clinical and information systems.

To be considered for the role you will have strong public sector experience (ideally in the NHS) and have specialist knowledge in associated interface engine software and standards, such as Rhapsody, Java CAPS, HL7, ITK, and to have knowledge of the databases, such as Oracle and SQL-Server.

Duties and responsibilities:-

** Responsible for the full life cycle of application/interface development including user requirement gathering, system analysis, system specification, system design, programming, testing, performance tuning/modification, implementation and support. ** Develop technical and user documentation, liaising with staff and system suppliers as required, ensuring that all new system/interface developments are appropriately documented and trained prior to hand over to business as usual support. ** Project manage the assessment, planning and implementation of allocated interfaces. ** Assist in the training and co-ordination of Analyst / Programmers and Junior Analyst / Programmers' workload in conjunction with the Interface Manager and the Head of Development.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:-

** Degree in Computing or equivalent qualification and/or experience ** Recent relevant experience of the full life cycle of IT application development. Experience gained further to degree (or equivalent experience) in a business or health service environment. ** HL7 (Health Level 7) message protocol ** Experience in the following programming languages and interfacing standards (Javascript, Systems Design and Analysis) ** Good working knowledge of SQL and an industry standard Relational Database Management System, such as Oracle or SQL Server ** Excellent programming skills

The contract element will fall in scope for IR35 and will need to operate through an umbrella company or PAYE set up.
