A well-known and fast-growing company in Glasgow's growing digital industry is seeking a UX Consultant. You will be joining a team of Designers, Developers and Project Managers and will be in constant contact with clients from many different industries and will contribute to a wide variety of projects. The company are working with businesses from banking, media, retail and drinks sectors. They assist these companies across all digital platforms; from web and mobile apps, to connected devices, voice, and emerging technologies.
About you:
You will ideally be from a fast-paced UX Design background and able to cope in a client-driven environment. You need not necessarily be from a digital agency background, thought it would help. The company are big on working with the newest technologies and always keep up with the latest market trends. You must have extensive Stakeholder Management skills and have vast experience with customer interaction. You should experience of the whole UX journey, from consulting with clients to wireframing to conducting user testing.
About the role:
This role is for a proper User Research Consultant. Although some technical skills are required, it is important to note that the company have a team of front-end developers and web designers who can knock out templates and UI designs for fun. This role is much more focussed on activities like setting up user research groups, audience analysis and consulting on proper user journey with the developers/designers. Before the design process, you will engage with clients to understand their needs and preferences and will communicate whether they are achievable. You will be expected to be aware of the trends within client's markets and deliver solutions with these in mind. You will report to the Project Managers of each project and the UX team lead as to how each project is progressing.
Required technical skills:
** Ideally five years' experience in UX design
** Wireframing experience (preferably in Axure and Sketch)
** Ability to work across different platforms
** Experience with working across complex digital products and systems
** Stakeholder Management skills
** Self-Organisation and Prioritisation skills
** Working to deadlines
Desirable skills:
** Design and delivery methodologies (Design Sprints / Agile Development)
** Mentoring of junior designers
** UI Design experience
** Design software experience (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
