Job Description
The Portfolio Architect required by our leading client in Aldershot to be the main authority for the design and architecture of all products, collaborating with the broader teams to complete feasibility studies and definition of proposed enhancements and changes, leading all enhancement projects and maintaining oversight through delivery of each project, evaluating and validating the impact of changes with Business Analysts, Development teams and Product Managers. This role will involve hands on Technical Architecture.

Keys responsibilities:

* Specification development, architecture and design, and technology roadmap maintenance and development for the Portfolio * The Portfolio Architect will advise on the design and implementation of all processes and systems integrated with our products. * Developing solutions to drive the business goals for the Portfolio * Understand product manager and client requirements to translate them into technical specifications * Develop creative and innovative architectural designs with minimal supervision * Lead a small team working on platform sandbox research, release deployment, proof of concepts for new modules or system development * Work with project managers and peers to produce effort estimates and to improve system functionality and reliability * Develop architecture designs which are well-thought out, reasonable and practical * Leverage Methodologies to produce results in a timely and predictable manner * Responsible for approving all Non-Functional and Operational considerations and authoring, reviewing, making changes and publishing changes as required. This includes Performance, Availability, Business Continuity, Service Management, Infrastructure, Networks, Support, and Security aspects as well as business functionality and technical functions. Experience

* Minimum of 8-10 years IT experience or equivalent work experience in a relevant environment. * Experience in at least two of the 4 contributing architecture disciplines: business analysis, systems engineering, data/information architectures and technical architectures. * Strong knowledge of design and architectural patterns. * Experience of ‘system of systems’ architecture development, partitioning of functionality among applications and components and application interfaces/interoperability concerns. * Experience of software development methodologies and structured approaches to system development. * Awareness of systems management and operational support tools. * Security and/or infrastructure experience would also be a significant benefit. * Hands-on experience in delivery, deployment, tuning or operations of large scale and complex IT systems, preferably in a Government domain would be an advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

* Knowledge of relevant international standards (e.g. ISO 27001, UN EDIFACT, Risk IT, CobiT, PCI DSS, ISO/IEC 27002) * Knowledge of government security and risk management practices * Broad IT experience including integration with external systems, Directory systems (LDAP, Active Directory), Linux, Oracle * Demonstrates Systems Engineering experience * Working knowledge of resource estimation, internal administration and operational processes * Enterprise Architecture/IT Strategy * System integration and hardware issues * Modelling methodologies such as (MooD, Rational Suite, METIS, Artisan, ISSE, System Architect, RUP, UML) * Requirements methodologies such as Use Cases modelling, IDEF, RAD, DSDM, FDD DDD MDD) * Solution Estimating
