This well established and extremely prestigious Scientific company based in Wilmslow are looking to recruit a full time permanent IT Helpdesk Administrator to support all PC users in the Wilmslow office,.

The position of IT Helpdesk Administrator is an exciting opportunity to provide level 1 IT support to all PC users. You will be working as part of a small team of dedicated IT support personnel and with over 600 employees based on the site you will need the ability to prioritise work and stay calm under pressure.


* Respond to calls to the Wilmslow IT help-desk by answering the telephone and following up on voice-mail messages and emails to the helpdesk. * Providing telephone phone based level 1 support to end users by following standard guidance and troubleshooting procedures * Gather specific problem information and to document problems from the symptoms provided * Logging all resolved and unresolved issues in the IT request database * Escalate issues that cannot be resolved. * Maintaining the PC Asset database * Up-issuing process documents relating to Desktop * Maintaining the Hardware and Software Purchase Approval Database (HSPA) * Maintaining the Approved Software and Systems Request database (ASSR) * Raising Purchase requests for hardware and software * Maintaining stock of frequently used parts * Provide IT support in conference rooms. * Good all round Administrative skills * Intermediate / Advanced computer skills. * Previous work experience with computers, computer related course certifications or a Computer Science degree. * Familiar with Active Directory, Microsoft Windows 7, MS Office 2007/2010, Lotus Notes, SAP, LANdesk and our CANON print solution * Previous experience in an IT Helpdesk environment. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in order to carry out the job effectively. * Knowledge of Active Directory
